Maria Parham Hospital Awards Sterile Cleaning Project to Dewhit

Dewhit, a Minority Business Enterprise and provider of janitorial services, will perform the sterile cleaning project services related to the expansion of Maria Parham Hospital

Greenville, SC May 20, 2005 -- Dewhit, Inc., a leading southeastern-based janitorial services company, has been awarded the aseptic and sterile cleaning project related to the renovation and expansion of Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson, North Carolina. Dewhit will be performing aseptic sanitization and sterile cleaning of the newly constructed wing of the hospital that includes the latest in surgical suite design and execution. Dewhit's intimate knowledge of the criticality of sterile cleaning projects, their trained and skilled workforce, and demonstrated project success of working in several hospital and pharmaceutical environments was key to being selected for this project. The cleaning services performed by Dewhit's project team will maintain the integrity of the sterile environments by ensuring the removal and prevention of contaminating agents that may have remained from the construction process.    

The renovation and expansion project at Maria Parham Hospital, located in Henderson, North Carolina, will include more than $50 million of improvements to the labor and delivery department and new facilities to include a 24 bed medical patient care unit, new rehabilitation impatient unit, a gym and laboratory space. In all, over 150,000 square feet will include a new facility for housing an emergency / trauma department with a 26 bed surgical patient care unit, an 8 bed ICU / CCU, and a 12 bed PCU. Additionally, the facility will house five new operating rooms, a MRI suite, nuclear medicine, a radiology suite, a GI suite, and an ultrasound / mammography suite.
